Biography of
Pep
I
then moved on to the A' Level College when in 1980 I won the first ever calypso
competition held at the institution.
Two years later I moved to Cave Hill Campus,
Barbados, and quickly became involved in the musical activities. I
completed the ha-trick of victories winning the campus calypso monarch in 1983,
1984, and 1985.
My return home was greeted with a barrage of
requests to enter the local calypso competition. In 1986 I acceded to
those requests and was a crowd favourite when I placed first runner-up.
In 1987 I teamed up with Rowan Seon to produce
the ever popular "UNBORN CHILD" with which I captured the national
monarch title. This was the beginning of a success story which saw me
capturing five (5) monarch titles, placing first runner-up no less than four
times, placing in the second spots on three occasions.
I went on to pursue an M.B.B.S. course in general
medicine in 1992, ending a career of teaching which spanned eight years. I
am currently practicing medicine at the island's main hospital.
Looking forward to making 2002 a fruitful year in
the world of calypso, aiming for a sixth title.
