Biography of Cheryl
In
1992 she performed another hit "BLACK ROBES WHITE JUSTICE" placing
4th.
1993 - At the top of her game placing 3rd in the final
competition singing a crowd favorites "GRANNY BOOGLE" and "CHRIST
FOR THE CRISIS" both written and arranged by Boo Hinkson. Emerged
MONARCH OF THE TENT.
1994 - Made her way to the finals with "SCHOOL
BAG", an insight into the future of the children through the things in
their school bag, written and arranged by Boo Hinkson and Luther Francois.
1996 - Formed part of a three (3) girl group called COLORS
and went on to win 1st place in the St. Lucia leg of the Rhythms of the
Caribbean competition organized by Island Records.
1998 - Finalist performing "MASSIVE TREE" and
"WE GO RISE AGAIN" written and arranged by Boo Hinkson.
1999 - Calypso finalist performing "PRISONER ON DEATH
ROW" and "CALYPSO POWER", written by Naham 'Happy' Jn Baptiste
and arranged by Zepherin 'Face' Calixte. Performed at Spectakular Tent in
Trinidad as a result of an exchange programme with the Ambassadors' Calypso
Tent.
2000 - Finalist with "CALYPSO HOSPITAL"
Cheryl has performed in Dominica on several occasions, and
Caribbean Expo in Grenada in 1992. She is now a member of the all female
group SISTERHOOD, who has performed at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival on 3
occasions with their big break coming when he group opened for Patti
Labelle on main stage at the festival in 1999. Cheryl has also had the
pleasure of working with David Essex, the British Rock Star, on his World Tour
Album, some of which was recorded in St. Lucia at the studios of Boo Hinkson.
